How to submit a hurricane claim

What you need to do

• Contact your RLI claim representative or independent insurance agent to report your damage claim immediately. For RLI contact information and a property loss form, go to main claims page.

Have the following information ready when reporting your claim:

• Name(s) of policyholder
• Policy number
• Location address
• Contact telephones
• Comprehensive directions to your property
• Description of damage

Other steps you can take

• Make temporary repairs immediately to protect your property from further damage.
• If your home is not livable, secure your property and make arrangements for another temporary living situation (i.e., rental home, condo, apartment, etc.).
• Separate your damaged contents/personal property from undamaged items.
• Secure undamaged personal property to prevent further loss.
• Begin an inventory of damaged contents (items of your personal property). It is often easier to do this one room at a time.
