Michael J. Stone

Duties include overall responsibilities for
risk services, information technology, branch operations and claims.
Stone joined the company in 1996, and has served RLI
as vice president, claims. He was promoted to senior
vice president and executive vice president in 1998, and
has held his current position since 2002. Stone was
named the 2000 Hammond Memorial Scholarship Fund Claims
Person of the Year. He joined RLI from The Travelers
Insurance Company in Hartford, Conn., most recently as
vice president, liability claims. He worked at Crawford
& Company Insurance Adjusters from 1970-1976, serving as
claims adjuster and supervising multi-line casualty
property claims in Kentucky and Indiana.
Stone received a bachelor’s degree from Bellarmine
College, Louisville, Ky., and he received his J.D.,
magna cum laude, from the University of Louisville,
Louisville, Ky.
