For pre-approved retail agents and brokers with a solid book of ambulance fleet accounts, RLI Transportation actively welcomes ambulance insurance risks.
Ambulance-Specific Criteria
- $10,000 minimum premium
- Fleets with at least 25% ambulances, with lights and sirens
- Ambulance risks with more than 75% wheelchair vans are not a fit
- Risks should have at least 2 full years of operating experience
- Fleets consisting of at least 5 ambulances
- Emergency and non-emergency fleets accepted
- Employees at least EMT-B certified (preferred)
- EVOC or CEVO training provided (preferred)*
*In-house training is also acceptable
Submission Clearance Requirements
- ACORD 125 and ACORD 137
- Completed RLI Ambulance Automobile Questionnaire
- Vehicle Schedule with garaging city/state, year/make/model, specific use, seating capacity and stated amount values (in excel if possible)
- 4 years of currently valued hard copy loss runs with details on all losses over $25k
- Drivers list with date of birth, date of hire, driver’s license number and state (in excel if possible)

Additional Requirements
- Two most recent year-end, audited financial statements, balance sheet and income statement**
- Current MVRs for all drivers
- Acceptable Digital Risk Review, completed and reviewed by our internal loss control team

**Please note, if financial statements do not meet RLI minimum guidelines, we will not be able to offer a quote
We may be able to waive financial requirements if annualized premiums are under $250,000 with an average or above average loss control rating.
Coverage Territory Limits
RLI offers coverage throughout the U.S. with the following exceptions:
- Policies cannot be domiciled in MA, LA, MT, NM, HI, NY, AK, NJ or MI
- RLI is not targeting ambulance insurance risks in South Florida, South Texas, Los Angeles County in California, San Francisco County in California or Cook County in Illinois
