- RLI offers coverage throughout the U.S. with the following exceptions:
- Policies cannot be domiciled in or significantly operating in NM, MA, LA, MT, HI, NY, AK, MI or NJ. Also, not available in South Florida, South Texas, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Cook County, Illinois.
- *We define South Florida as South of Lake Okeechobee.
- *We define South Texas as South of Houston.
- *We define San Francisco as Marin, Alameda and San Francisco County.
- *Significantly operating in is more than 25% of the exposure occurring there.
- We will consider risks with incidental exposure in unfavorable venues if the risk is not domiciled there
Qualifications & Guidelines

- $10,000 minimum premium
- Fleets with at least 25% ambulances, with lights and sirens
- At least two full years of operating experience
- Fleets with five or more ambulances
- Emergency and non-emergency fleets
- Employees at least EMT-B certified (preferred)
- EVOC or CEVO training provided (preferred)*
- We do not write ambulance risks with more than 75% wheelchair vans.
*Additional items such as financial statements may also be requested.
*In-house training is acceptable
Getting started
If you’re an ambulance fleet manager, contact your agent or connect with us for a referral. Agents and brokers can get started by completing and submitting the Ambulance Auto Questionnaire. Our submission requirements include:
- ACORD 125 and ACORD 137
- Vehicle schedule with garaging city/state, year/make/model, specific use, seating capacity and stated amount values (in excel if possible)
- Four years of currently valued hard copy loss runs with details on all losses over $25k
- Drivers list with date of birth, date of hire, driver’s license number and state (in excel if possible)
- Two most recent year-end, audited financial statements, balance sheet and income statement
- Current MVRs for all drivers
- Acceptable Digital Risk Review, completed and reviewed by our internal loss control team
