For pre-approved retail agents and brokers with a solid book of hospital fleet accounts, RLI Transportation actively welcomes hospital insurance risks.
Hospital-Specific Criteria
- $10,000 minimum premium
- Fleets consisting of a mix of any or all of the following unit types: emergency or non-emergency ambulances, patient transport including wheelchairs, service, maintenance, security, courier or employee shuttle vehicles
- Hired and non-owned liability coverage for non-passenger transportation exposures (as part of the fleet or standalone)
- Garagekeepers’ legal liability coverage for valet and parking garage exposures, but not on a standalone basis
- Employees at least EMT-B certified for passenger transport operations (preferred)
Submission Clearance Requirements
- ACORD 125 and ACORD 137
- Completed RLI Healthcare Questionnaire
- Vehicle Schedule with garaging city/state, year/make/model, specific use, seating capacity and stated amount values (in Microsoft Excel format, if possible)
- 4 years of currently-valued hard copy loss runs with details on all losses over $25,000
- Drivers’ list with date of birth, date of hire, driver’s license numbers and state (in Microsoft Excel format, if possible)
- If Garagekeepers’ Legal Liability coverage is requested and valet services are provided, please complete the RLI Valet Questionnaire
Additional Requirements
- Two most recent year-end, audited financial statements, balance sheet and income statement*
- Current MVRs for all drivers
- Acceptable loss control phone inspection
*Please note: if financial statements do not meet RLI minimum guidelines, we will not be able to offer a quote.
We may be able to waive financial requirements if annualized premiums are under $250,000 with an average or above average loss control rating.
Coverage Territory Limits
RLI offers coverage throughout the U.S. with the following exceptions:
- Policies cannot be domiciled in MA, LA, MT, HI, NY, AK, NJ, NM or MI
- Hired and non-owned only policies cannot be domiciled in the above listed states or in ME, MO, SD, TX or VA
- RLI is not targeting hospital insurance risks in South Florida, South Texas, Los Angeles County in California, San Francisco County in California or Cook County in Illinois
