General Contractors

Eligible Contractors

• Self-perform less than 50% of work
• Actively manage job sites and job site safety
• CM At-Risk
• Design-Bid-Build
• Design Build
• New (ground up construction)
• TIB (tenant’s improvements and betterments) work

Ineligible Contractors

• Contractors with over water or overseas exposures
• Residential new construction (Unless part of the Warranty Home Builders Program)
• Paper GCs: not actively managing job sites or job site safety
• Street/road, water or sewer, structural steel, door/window, framing, siding, roofing

Artisan Contractors

Eligible Artisan Contractors

• Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, concrete, landscaping, swimming pool, fence, drywall, flooring and others (Refer to our target class brochure for complete list of eligible classes)
• Worksite safety program for employees
• Proper risk transfer

Ineligible Artisan Contractors

Ineligibilities may vary based on the type of artisan contractor. Please contact your underwriter for specifics. In general, the following are outside of our appetite:

• Street/road
• Water and sewer
• Framing, siding and roofing
• High voltage work (Over 480 volts)
• Fire sprinkler systems
• LPG system installation, service or repair
• Nuclear power plant work
• Underground utility work if more than incidental (10% of payroll)
• Not having a worksite safety program for employees
